First flight in Italy, yesterday afternoon at the AMI base of Amendola, of the TUAV (Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, ed) Shadow 200 recently acquired by the Italian Army and operated by the 28mo group Air Force squadrons of the "Tucano" Army stationed in Viterbo.

The new set-up extends the capacities of the Armed Forces not only in the dimension of the Tactical Surveillance activity of the operations area, but especially within the manned-unmanned team (MUM-T), which will deploy next to Remote Control Shadow A-129 Exploration and Exhaust Helicopter for Scouting and Reconnaissance (S / R) and Targeting-Fire Support (T / FS) activities, and, no less relevant, in conducting the most common activities the use of the AVES 's third - dimensional structure to support groundhandling and in synergy with the latter.

It is a new and vast horizon that today's flight sees the dawn of a new era capable of rapidly increasing the capacities of the Armed Forces not only in the strictly military field, but also in the dual dual use of resources, in the fields of security, environmental, scientific and technological research.

The baptism of the flight for the TUAV Shadow 200 had as enthusiastic spectators the top representatives of the Army Aviation that, at the end of the flight of debut, have expressed to the good colleagues of the 28mo group AVES squadrons "Tucano", pilots and technicians of the new set-up, and of the RISTA Brigade, operators of the on-board sensor, the congratulations for the brilliant result achieved after many months of intense and fruitful work.
