New commander of the army aviation brigade

Yesterday morning in the barracks “Gen. R. Bazzichelli ”, in the presence of the command of the command aviation army of the support command, of the training center and of the 1 ° Antares the commander of the aviation of the general army Antonio Bettelli, presided in videoconference with the departments of Bolzano, Turin, Lamezia and Cagliari the ceremony of appointment of the commander of the army aviation brigade.

"Today I give the post, held already by my predecessor, on an interim basis, after the tragic events of last January that saw the disappearance of the gen. ca Giangiacomo Calligaris and of the cap. Paolo Lozzi, to a modern commander, an expert on the functional dynamics of the organization, provided with a considerable wealth of professional experience and supported by excellent human qualities "said General Antonio Bettelli to Colonel Arrigo Arrighi.

The new 6th commander of the brigade thus wanted to close the ceremony: "On the day I take command of the army aviation brigade, I wish to express my respectful homage to the standards of the very prestigious units which, with daily and valuable commitment, contribute in a decisive in guaranteeing the exercise of the combat support function to the armed force through the harmonious use of organic assets with fixed and rotating wings.

The standards of the 1 ° ANTARES, of the 2 ° SIRIO and of the 4 ° ALTAIR represent our beloved homeland and the extraordinary qualities of the most glorious and prestigious units of the army's aviation. They must always remember those who, by making the ultimate sacrifice, have left us after having served in their shadow.

I am convinced that the attachment to the duty and to the noble ethical principles, typical of our specialty, animates and inspires the behaviors and the brilliant professionalism of the majority of the personnel framed in the units of the brigade. They are the substantial elements and of constant reference for the overcoming of the many challenges inherent in our mission and those that await us in a moment of profound, continuous and complex transformation of the military instrument.

With the pride for the privilege accorded me by the Chief of Staff of the Army in designating me to direct the army aviation brigade and with the hope of being able to prove myself up to the task entrusted to me, I therefore address the officers, non-commissioned officers, volunteers and civilian personnel and to their families my most cordial greetings ".
