The bomb squads of the Army, belonging to the 2nd Engineer Regiment of Trento, neutralized a 100-pound aircraft bomb, successfully concluding the operation ahead of schedule.
The phases were carried out quickly, but in full compliance with the maximum safety for the citizens and for the very safety of the active soldiers. The organizational machine saw the coordination of the Bolzano government commissioner, del Interregional Command Defense Forces North and 130 participants including military, law enforcement and civil protection.
The blocking of the cross-border road network began at 08:45, followed by the evacuation of 200 inhabitants. The section of the A10 motorway between Brenner and Bressanone, the state road (SS 10) and the railway reopened considerably in advance, at 22:12 am, considerably reducing the inconvenience for tourists in transit and inhabitants of the area.
