Show "Azzurro che Valore"

Yesterday, at the Shrine of the Fallen D'Oltremare of Bari and with the National Association Istituto Nastro Azzurro, on the occasion of the centenary of the great First World War, a traveling exhibition dedicated to promoting the memory of fallen sportsmen was inaugurated part of which are decorated for military valor.

Some of these were part of the then national football team, others were runners, cyclists, gymnasts, all in all 500 sportsmen were decorated and decorated for value, eight of them with a gold medal.

In the exhibition opened by ten.col. Donato Marasco, from the vice president Ass. Naz. Nastro Azzurro, gen. Giuseppe Picca, with the intervention of prof. Rocco Galasso, historical consultant and responsible for the “Azzurro che Valore” project, Ettore Savoia, president of the association of the same name, in the presence of military and civil authorities and enthusiasts, you can admire a photographic documentation and an interesting artistic work by the master Vincenzo D 'Acuzo who, with the technique of colored pencils, has portrayed some athletes.

Then there is the 1914 blue jersey specially made with the hero's ball which shows the names of the soccer players who fell in the war, cups (artistic replicas), jerseys and newspapers relating to the four world titles of the national football team. The exhibition will remain open until 20 July 2014.
