Salerno, the soldiers of the Cavalleggeri Guide Regiment (19 °), engaged in the "Safe Roads" operation in Campania, saved a child of 12 years who fell into a ditch several meters deep. The intervention near the tracks of a Salerno railway line is providential.

During the dynamic surveillance service in the city of Salerno, the soldiers were approached by a child who asked for help and told about his friend who had fallen into a ditch and remained trapped. Immediately the rescue machine was started, the patrol, belonging to the "Campania" grouping, currently under the responsibility of the 21 Genio Regiment of Caserta, of the "Garibaldi" Brigade, was brought to the scene. There it was found the 12enne visibly frightened and disoriented, stuck in a deep channel near the railroad tracks.

The military worked to free him with the means at their disposal. After having rescued him and verified the general physical conditions, the young man was entrusted to the 118 sanitary facilities called to intervene on the spot.

In Campania there are about 700 soldiers of the Italian Army who work in collaboration with the Police Forces, coordinated by the 2 ° Command of the Defense Forces (2 ° FOD) of San Giorgio a Cremano (NA), for greater security of the territory and to combat crime.
