In the broad framework of international cooperation activities, the 3 Alpine Regiment of the Army has organized and conducted the exercise Long Range Fire 2 which saw the nuclei flow into the Pian dell'Alpe (TO) polygon Tycoons Selected of numerous Italian and foreign departments.
The activity was attended by Alpine departments of the "Taurinense" brigade, the "Julia" brigade, the 4 ° alpine paratroopers regiment and two pairs of selected Saudi army shooters as well as observers from the Cesano Infantry School.
The staff, already trained and qualified, led an initial phase of amalgamation in which diurnal and nocturnal maintenance shots were made from the maximum distances with the various weapons provided.
Subsequently, the shooters were dropped in an operational context characterized by the presence of Opposing Forces of the "Susa" Alpine battalion which, practicing in the area counter-interdiction, made the activity absolutely realistic and coherent.
Moreover, the morphology of the exercise area, characterized by strong altitudes, combined with the climatic conditions of the winter, have made the scenario particularly challenging and trappantly profitable.
