MIBIL, Winter Special Mountain Warfare and Police Sniper courses completed

La Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL), under the command of Colonel Sandro Iervolino, completed the courses with the closing ceremonies Winter Special Mountain Warfare e Police Sniper, respectively in favor ofair assault regiment of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and specialist units of the Internal Security Forces (ISF).

The course Winter Special Mountain Warfare, aimed at acquiring mobility, survival and combat capabilities in a mountain environment, was conducted from 22 January to 29 February by a team of operators from the 4th regiment Cleaning in favor of 25 Lebanese visitors.

The intense training activities allowed attendees to learn the basic skills of safely ascending and descending slopes of medium-high difficulty with combat equipment and the fundamental notions for managing hypothermia, useful for providing first aid and creating of emergency hospitalizations.

Furthermore, the students had the opportunity to learn the techniques necessary for winter camouflage, for patrol movement in a snowy environment, the creation of observation posts and to carry out correct maintenance of equipment and weapons in harsh climates.

The course Police Sniper, aimed at acquiring the ability to perfectly execute skills sniper and guarantee the safety of the team operating on the ground, was conducted from 12 February to 1 March by a team from the Carabinieri composed of instructors from the Carabinieri marksmanship training school and of the 13 ° carabinieri regiment Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in favor of 28 Lebanese visitors.

The activity provided attendees with the notions of external ballistics, the fundamentals of shooting, planning and execution of activities Sniper in urban and police contexts, as well as the concepts of communication with the counterpart on the ground.

The carrying out of the courses made it possible, thanks to the professionalism and experience of the operators of the 4th regiment Cleaning and carabinieri, the full achievement of the pre-established training objectives and the passing of the intermediate tests and the respective final exercises, allowing the bond between the Italian and Lebanese Armed Forces to be further consolidated.

All activities carried out in the operational theater were conducted under the coordination and according to the directives given by operational command of interforce forces (COVI), the Defense high command responsible for the planning, coordination and direction of military operations, national and multinational joint exercises and related activities.
