Mak P100 of the 196 ° course "Certezza"

At the Military Academy of Modena, in the presence of the army chief of staff, general of the army corps Danilo Errico, the traditional ceremony of "Mak P 100" of the junior officers 196 ° course "Certezza" took place of the Military Academy of Modena, an event that marks the 100 days to the "star" and therefore to the promotion to the rank of second lieutenant of the 197 students of the Army and of the Carabinieri, including 10 foreign visitors from Albania, Jordan , Lebanon, Libya, Niger, Senegal and Thailand.

For the occasion, the interregional commander of the "Vittorio Veneto" carabinieri, general of the army corps Carmine Adinolfi, the commander for training, specialization and doctrine of the Army, general of the Giorgio Battisti army corps and numerous authorities were also present local, civil and religious, including the mayor of the city of Modena, dr. Giancarlo Muzzarelli.

To open the ceremony the regiment of students who, after marching through the city streets, returned to take part, after fourteen years, in the Novi Sad Park, testifying to the deep bond that unites the citizens of Modena with the Military Academy.

In his speech, General Errico, after thanking the intervening authorities, wanted to underline the importance of the goal reached by the students of the 196 ° course "Certa", inviting them to "face the future with courage and serenity and with conviction and pride. to have undertaken an incomparable path ".

The celebration of "Mak P 100" is a tradition that dates back to the 1840. With the passage of the "Stecca Accademica" the older students, now at the end of the two-year academic study, give the younger students the "Stecca", a large-scale reproduction of a small wooden tool, with a central groove, which in the past it was used by the students to polish the metal buttons of the jacket without dirtying the fabric.

Also this year, the official students, on the occasion of the MAK P 100, have decided to promote a charity activity contributing to the aims of the Onlus association "ASEOP" (Association of Pediatric Oncological Hematology Support) of Modena for the project "the House of Fausta ”, which provides for the construction of a shelter for children admitted to the maternal and child department of the Policlinico di Modena and their families.

The Military Academy, currently commanded by divisional general Salvatore Camporeale, is heir to the traditions of the Royal Academy established on 1 January of the 1678 and is the oldest military training institute in the world, preceding the Russian Academy of St. Petersburg, the Royal Military Academy, the Ecole Royale Militaire and West Point.

Today he is responsible for the training of officers in permanent service of the Army and of the Carabinieri, through a course of studies of a military and university nature aimed at obtaining a degree in strategic sciences, law, engineering, medicine and surgery, chemistry and pharmaceutical technology or veterinary medicine.
