07/04/15

On the snowy slopes of the Montgenevre, Briancon and Le Grave, the joint Alpine exercise of the Taurinense Brigade and the French Chasseurs Alpins for high-altitude rescue training has just ended. The teams of specialists from the two countries were able to improve the techniques for the rescue of avalanche victims, for stabilizing and clearing wounded with winches and transport with a stretcher.

All the participating personnel, coming from the 2 ° and the 9 ° Alpine Regiment of Taurinense and from the 4 ° Regiment of the 27 ^ French Mountain Brigade, showed besides an excellent preparation in rescue techniques also an excellent ability to move on snowy and rock terrain.

The exercise is part of the joint activities aimed at consolidating the project of the Italian-French Brigade Command, unit that reached full operational capacity in February at the end of a long process of integration between the Taurinense and the 27 ^ Mountain Commands transalpine.

The instructors who have managed the course are in charge of the platoon of the High Quota Rescue Gendarmerie (PGHM).
