The Army moves to Cavalli in Rome

17/02/15

Great enthusiasm for the participation of the Italian Army in the 2015 edition of Cavalli in Rome, the equine and horseracing capital of Rome, which has just closed its doors after animating the Nuova Fiera di Roma from 13 to 15 February.

Three intense days during which tens of thousands of people animated the promotional stand set up for the occasion by the Military Command of the Capital and the nine pavilions (four more than last year) dedicated to the equestrian event in central and southern Italy.

Schoolchildren, enthusiasts and riders of all ages visited the Armed Forces exposition, receiving information on the activities carried out by the Army in Italy and abroad and on how to wear uniforms.

A lot of interest also for the Corner of Memory, the special space dedicated to the commemorations of the centenary of the start of the Great War which, with photographs, relics and a historical vehicle of the Historical Museum of Military Motorization, wanted to remember the memory of those who lost life fighting in the name of freedom and country.

The protagonist of Cavalli in Rome 2015 was the Lancieri Regiment of Montebello (8 °) that thrilled the audience with the Song of Italians played by Fanfara on horseback at the opening ceremony and with the fascinating Carosello di Lance and the historical Charge of the Squadron on horseback who have concluded the equestrian Gala on Friday and Saturday evening.

Just during the Grand Gala of Cavalli in Rome on Saturday 14 the sole director of Fiera Roma Mauro Mannocchi publicly thanked the Army for his efforts in spreading the culture of equitation and gave the general Guglielmo Miglietta a plaque memorial.
