The Army Military Command "Puglia", the "Pinerolo" Mechanized Brigade and the inter-force department of the Military Presidium of Bari have lined up for the touching demonstration.
The ceremony was established by the municipal administration of Bari some years ago to bring citizens closer to military institutions and to rediscover the founding values of our Republic.
The event was attended by the students of the "Imbriani" Middle School and the "Vivante" Technical Commercial Institute accompanied by their teachers.
Among the authorities were Dr. Mario Volpe, vicar prefect, councilor Vincenzo Brandi, deputy mayor, and brigadier general Natalino Madeddu, regional army commander. The latter commented: "The raising of the flag, in its daily solemnity, is a duty for the military, like his oath of loyalty to his country".
The general also stressed the importance of passing on values from one generation to another, especially for young people who are preparing to become the future ruling class. In this regard, there was a representation of the main combat and weapon associations.
