The "Brasil" training ship in Civitavecchia

On Friday 1 September the captain of the vessel, Gustavo Calero Garriga Piras, commander of the Brazilian training ship "Brasil", for some days in the port of Civitavecchia for an educational trip, visited the Simulation Center, Validation of the Army.

The officer, accompanied by the naval officer, the captain of the vessel Bruno De Moraes Bittencourt Neto, was welcomed by the commander of Ce.Si.Va., the divisional general Maurizio Boni, as the highest authority of the Civitavecchia garrison.

During the meeting, gen. Boni illustrated the institutional tasks of the Center, highlighting the fundamental role that Ce.Si.Va. plays in the field of armed force in the field of training simulation and in the preparation of command posts, staff and units intended for use outside the national territory, while vessel captain Gustavo Calero Garriga Piras explained the details of the journey 'instruction.

The ship, having started the June 5 last June from Rio de Janeiro, will be heading for 22 ports around the world, before returning to Brazil in November. The main purpose of the Brasil, whose crew is composed of 32 officers, 95 non-commissioned officers and 122 sailors, in addition to the commander Augusto Viana Rocha, is to train his students with particular attention to the practical experience of the theoretical knowledge acquired in the academy absolving, at at the same time, diplomatic functions aimed at strengthening ties with friendly nations. The busy schedule of Nave's ensigns Brazil, which will last until 19 October, includes cultural trips, as well as to Civitavecchia, to the natural park of the Salinas of Tarquinia and in the Capital.

The visit in question follows that of the last 4 May of the vessel captain, CG DEM, Rafael Antonio Lagunes Arteaga, commander of the “Cuauhtémoc” school ship of the navy ministry of the army of Mexico; to that of the August 3 of Colonel Abderrezak Mohammed, commander of the Tunisian training ship "Soummam", and finally to that of 11 July, of the commander of the Chinese naval unit "Task Group 150", Radm Shean Hao.
