The "Black Ice 2017" exercise, which involved the assets of the mechanized brigade command "Granatieri di Sardegna", at the Monte Romano (VT) shooting range was completed. In particular, during the training phase, the command posts of the oldest Large Elementary Unit of the Italian Army and of the dependent regiment "Lancieri di Montebello" (8th).
The grenadiers ventured into the operational application of the various procedures of Command and Control and possible crisis situations that could occur in an operational scenario have been simulated. In particular, in this phase of the exercise, the 1st and 3rd squadron of the Lancieri, conducted the exploration of the area with external kinetic activations carried out by equally personal, identified for the exercise as an opposition force.
The activities carried out were a valid opportunity to refine the specialist skills of the Army cavalry exploring units.
