The Italian Red Cross at the Italian Blade 2015

01/07/15

Saving the hostages, this was the task that in recent days was assigned to the Italian Blade 2015 soldiers. The mission was made much more realistic by the intervention of the Red Cross volunteer nurses, who rigged, with special cinematographic techniques, five soldiers making wounds of various kinds appear on their bodies similar to real war wounds.

The show, completely realistic, did not frighten the troops who had the task of freeing the hostages.

They continued the action, as expected, eliminating the hostile members of the opposing faction and allowing the recovery of the wounded hostages, and their subsequent transfer to the field hospital set up at the "Fabbri" airport in Viterbo.

The exercise, which simulated one of the types of missions that European forces could face in operational theaters, involved the troops and helicopters of all the nations taking part in the Italian Blade 2015, which again demonstrated time of having reached, in these ten days now spent together, an excellent level of interoperability and capacity for collaboration, learning to act synergistically, as if they were a single Armed Force.

The presence of the Red Cross has underlined once again the importance of the relationships of the Armed Forces with all the voluntary institutions that often offer their work and contribute to the success of the training activities of our military.
