On Friday 15 September, at the Simulation and Validation Center of the Army (Ce.Si.Va.) the phase of conduct of the CPX-CAX Pegaso / 4 exercise of the Sassari brigade was concluded.

The unit in question, soon to be used in Herat at the head of the NATO mission "Train Advise Assist Command West" (TAAC W), operating in the West of Afghanistan in the broader context of the NATO mission "Resolute Support", has been submitted the verification of the operational capabilities of the Command Posts (CPX - Command Post Exercise).
The training of the brigade, commanded by Brigadier General Gianluca Carai, began with a Team Building activity at the S. Agostino logistics base and a refresher course on the SIACCON 2 Adv / GESI and Functional Services systems.

Subsequently, on the basis of the training objectives defined by the superior authorities and by the Main Essential Task List (METL) identified by the commander of the unit exercised, the "Sassari" brigade was mainly assessed on planning and production capacity of orders, on monitoring the situation and on updating the Common Operational Pictures (COP), on the management of information and emergencies and finally on the issuing of orders.

The CESIVA is the main reference of the Army for the application of training simulation in the preparation of command posts, staff and units intended for use outside the national territory.

The activity of the Center is focused above all on the organization of exercises aimed at certifying the achievement of the operational capabilities identified as "fundamental" for the fulfillment of the mission, using technologically advanced computer simulation and command and control systems, and making use of the collaboration of sector experts and personnel already employed in the reference Operating Theater.
