The 5 ° artillery regiment land launcher "Superga" of Portogruaro (Ve), after an intense logistics activity, landed in Sweden in the port of Lulea.

The artillery unit will be engaged until the 15 September in a major fire activity at Vidsel Test Range, polygon located in the north of the Scandinavian country.

The exercise is aimed at validating the weapon system and the crews for the use of GMLRS - UNITARY M31A1 ammunition, the latest generation GPS-guided rocket.

The activity aims to ensure and confer full operational capacity on the only terrestrial artillery platform capable of intervening with extreme precision on targets set up to a distance of 100 km.

Furthermore, with the support of the EOD center of excellence, the personnel in charge of the regiment will be specialized as a bomb technician.

In order to make the "training test" even more convincing, the Ground Armaments Directorate (DAT), responsible for the validation of the weapon system, will make use of the supervision of the industrial consortium, which participated in the modernization phases of the system itself.
