"Brothers in Army" starts tonight

The Brothers in Army television series begins tonight, on the DMAX channel at 21,10, the first docu-reality show showing Italian military training. The first series, four episodes of two episodes each, tells the story of soldiers who aspire to become pilots of army helicopters.

Twelve boys have been followed in their professional life mission after mission, flight after flight, documenting the evolution of the medium's mastery. During the year-long filming, the crew followed the training course step by step to become a helicopter pilot of the Italian army.

The images were all made in full HD using also action-cams and night vision goggles, underwater images and images at high altitudes passing over the Dolomites.

The format of this series was presented yesterday morning in the prestigious room of the military library of the army palace, headquarters of the general staff, by general ca Claudio Graziano, chief of staff of the army, by general b. Adriano Graziani, head of the public information and communication office of the army staff, by Laura Carafoli, SVP Content & Programming Discovery Italia, by Giovanna Montani, Ragù Communication producer and by Marta Vivacqua, Hangar executive producer.

Military and civil authorities present in the room who were able to preview the presentation of the episode of Brothers in Army that will be broadcast this evening. A special greeting and thanks went to the representatives of the world of advanced technology of the Finmeccanica group who support the Italian armed forces with their work.

General Graziano pointed out that Brothers in Army is dedicated to the general of the army corps Giangiacomo Calligaris and the captain Paolo Lozzi, fallen during a training flight in the skies of Viterbo, the 23 January 2014 and, speaking of the tragic events, he reiterated that "our duty is to ensure that if a risk is accepted for service or duty, to defend the country, that it is never due to lack of training or lack of equipment, and we must be aware of this".

The general then thanked the director of Finmeccanica, Mauro Moretti, present in the room, stressing that the group "represents that part of the country that we need, which enables us to have suitable weapons systems and equipment, which works as we at the service of the country to achieve these results ".

During his speech, the managing director of Finmeccanica recalled that "it is not the car that makes the country, it is the technologies related to space and defense" and congratulated the soldiers who took part in the series, because thanks they understood what is meant by the term "brothers" because they live "this experience in terms of family".

The staff and aviation of the army collaborated in the creation of Brothers in Army, with the support of the companies of the Finmecanica group which, with advanced technologies, support the Italian armed forces: Augusta Westland, Selex ES, Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio .

This first series, dedicated to the army, will then be followed by others dedicated to exercises by other armed forces: navy, military aeronautics and carabinieri.
