Meeting between the Army corps non-commissioned officer and the corps non-commissioned officers of the area leaders

At the "DIAZ" Hall of Palazzo Impero, first lieutenant Michele Romano, Army corps non-commissioned officer, met with the corps non-commissioned officers of the Army's area leaders.

After the greeting address by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Army Corps General Carmine Masiello, the work of the meeting began with the introduction of the Army Corps Non-Commissioned Officer, who, after having shared the "awareness" that there is no "common language" regarding the "function" of the corps non-commissioned officer, has highlighted the importance of "communication" in order to instill the "culture" of this role in all levels.

Following, the speeches of the logistics command non-commissioned officer, first lieutenant Luigi Raiola, of COMFOTER-SPT, first lieutenant. Marco Puzzer, of the COMFOP-North, first lieutenant Rosario Scuoppo, of COMFOTER, first lieutenant Vito Fontana, of the SME, first lieutenant Giuseppe Carvelli, of COMFOP-South, first lieutenant Nunzio Barone, of the Com-TA, first lieutenant Tullio Milan, of NRDC-IT, first marshal Stefano Genco, of COMFORDOT, first marshal Saverio Violanti.

The participants, after a brief presentation of their commands, shared their experiences in the role, with particular reference to the role of non-commissioned officers, graduates and volunteers, placing the focus on certain issues worthy of further investigation.

Among the topics covered, in addition to "Directive 1034", the importance of encouraging "team working" and the "open minded" approach was discussed as well as the differences between "mission command" and "empowerment". The responsibility of the corps non-commissioned officer as a "precious resource" for the corps commanders was also explored in depth, for all aspects connected with the ethics, well-being, morale and disciplinary profile of the actual personnel in the department, as well as for the achievement of the objectives of the Chief of Staff of the Army, with particular reference to training and values.

In his speech, first lieutenant Romano reiterated that the corps non-commissioned officer must earn the trust of the commander and of all the men and women of his department and can only do so by acting with loyalty, transparency, a sense of responsibility and, above all, with 'example.
