The bilateral exercise called "Turnout 2015", which saw the regiment engaged genius railwaymen and the 507 ° royal team specialist engineer of the British army.
The training activity, which began the 28 September, was organized with the aim of implementing an exchange of skills, procedures and experiences between the Italian Army and the English Army, in the field of weapon and specialty activities, with particular reference to work in the railway field.
The units have been involved in the training areas of Castel Maggiore di Ozzano dell'Emilia, and have led various activities that have gone from the design of rigid road surfaces to the field structures of force protection, passing through the construction of a railway exchange and a section of the railway line of approximately 300 meters, a fitting of a double-wall SE (Strasse-Eisenbahn) road bridge, to end with some counter IED (Improvised Explosive device) aimed at combating improvised explosive devices.
The "Turnout 2015" exercise, which ended an intense training period for the engineers, represented a fundamental opportunity to improve the command and control capacity in multinational contexts within the framework of the Atlantic Alliance.
