In particular, the head of SME highlighted the importance and effectiveness of the mediation work of the gen. Portolano aims to create the conditions for a dialogue between Lebanon and Israel, for the discussion of issues of vital importance for maintaining the cessation of hostilities and for finding solutions by common agreement on open disputes along the Blue Line.
The activity of the gen. Portolano, commander of the Mission since July 2014, was marked by an intense dialogue activity carried out essentially along three channels, apparently distinct, but interacting and functional for the achievement of the 1701 Resolution.
