The "Yellow Devils" of the 185th Folgore at the final stage of the NEC strength experimentation

The paratrooper artillerymen of the 185º "Folgore" regiment have conducted, in recent days, fire operations with a Thompson heavy mortar section from 120mm.

During the training, the "Yellow Devils of 185 °" used a "Lince" VTLM as a digitalized platform for the designation of the objectives, thus contributing to the final phase of the experimentation of the NEC (Network Enabled Capability) force.

During the fire activity, the mortar section conducted interventions at considerable distances, using different high-potential launch charges.
There is also a US artillery component belonging to the 173ª airborne Brigade, based in Vicenza, with whom the "Yellow Devils" have long started a fruitful collaboration.

The American Group, equipped with 105mm "Light Gun" and "M777 / A2" from 155 mm, participated in Livex to verify and implement the ASCA protocol (Artillery System Cooperation Activities). In this mode, the "Joint Fire Support Teams" were able to send direct intervention requests to the Groups and Batteries, creating the necessary interoperability in multinational contexts and developing the concept of "airborne community".
