The activity, which saw the participation of about forty donor blue helmets including the commander of Italbatt, Colonel Elio Babbo, was organized by the Cimic Cell in response to the appeal to donate launched by the Red Cross of Tire, which precisely in this period, characterized by the strong heat and Ramadan, faces considerable difficulties in collecting blood.
An applause for the initiative also came from Italy through the words of the president of the Friuli blood donors association, Renzo Peressoni, who during a video call, expressed his gratitude to Colonel Elio Babbo, for his high civic sense that distinguishes the Lancers, always close and sensitive to the problem of the lack of blood products.
Dr. Silvana Cremaschi, regional councilor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and member of the health commission, also joined the expressions of gratitude, which also brought the greetings and appreciation of the president of the region Deborah to the soldiers of Aries on duty in Lebanon Serracchiani.
From September 2007 at the headquarters of the "Lancieri di Novara" regiment in Codroipo, the "Bianchi Lancieri" section of the AFDS is active, which counts over two hundred members and makes periodic donations of blood. Today's initiative is fully among the assistance activities in favor of the Lebanese population envisaged by the UN 1701 Resolution, together with the monitoring of the cessation of hostilities and support for the Lebanese armed forces, tasks that the staff of the Ariete brigade, commanded by General Fabio Polli, play here with commitment, professionalism and transparency.
