The delicate work of the bomb squad of the Italian Army for the neutralization of a war remnant dating back to the First World War, which intervened in the municipality of Gallio (VI), in the locality of Stoccareddo, ended in recent days.
The specialists of the 8th "Folgore" parachute engineer regiment of Legnago (VR), a unit of the "Folgore" parachute brigade, operated in close coordination with the command North Operating Forces of Padua and with the prefecture of Vicenza and the local authorities, adopting all safety procedures aimed at neutralizing the bomb dating back to the First World War found near via Col Fuste.
The clearance operations by the Army bomb squad were complex and delicate, as the device, partially walled in a wall of a civilian house, was removed by the specialist personnel of the 8th parachute bomb disposal engineer regiment "Folgore". ” with the aid of manual instruments in a methodical and accurate manner. Subsequently, the device was detonated in an identified and prepared area, in order to protect public safety.

In 2022, 17.872 devices were neutralized as part of the over 1250 interventions conducted by Army engineers at a national level.
