In recent days, i volunteers on initial standstill, new professional figures of the Army, belonging to the 1st block 2023, have taken an oath of loyalty to the Italian Republic, at the volunteer training regiments of Capua, Cassino and Verona.
In front of the Flag of War of the relevant regiments and in the presence of military, civil and religious authorities, as well as the Combatant and Arms Associations, the volunteers shouted "I swear!" and, to the tune of the Mameli Hymn, they solemnly committed themselves to serving their country in compliance with the Constitution.
During the speeches in Capua, Cassino and Verona, Brigadier General Eugenio DESSÌ, commander of the Infantry School, underlined the meaning of the oath, an ethical reference in the daily action of personnel with the "stars" and a moral bond towards themselves and the country.
The introduction of the new professional figure of volunteer in initial stop (VFI), replacing the volunteer on fixed term of 1 year (VFP1), represents a decisive change in the recruitment process for initial careers in the Italian Army, oriented towards a modern professional model that adheres to the operational needs of the Armed Forces.
