The 18 course, which arrived in Viterbo last September 29, is formed by 201 students Marshals, including 19 women. Of these, 139 come from the public competition and the remaining 62 were recruited from sergeants and volunteers in permanent service of the armed force.

La Army Non-Official School, currently commanded by Brigadier General Gabriele Toscani De Col, draws its origins from the first Petty Officer School 1 July 1888 established in Caserta. From the 1965 the Officers' School is based in the city of Viterbo.

At the end of the three-year training process, student marshals, platoon commanders, obtain a degree in "political science and international relations" at the University of Tuscia; the qualified marshals "professional nurses", the degree in "nursing", at the University "Roma Tor Vergata".
