"Folgore no limits": the paratroopers in the field with the disabled

This morning in Livorno the Folgore started the second edition of the "Folgore no limits".

The event, dedicated to "disabled" sport and organized by the Paratroopers Brigade of the Italian Army in collaboration with the Italian Paralympic Committee, showed guests the potential of sporting practice as a useful tool for a more rapid and effective reintegration into society, and It was also an opportunity for the approximately 30 associations that took part to make known the initiatives created to improve the daily life of the disabled and their families.

After the flag-raising ceremony, which was attended by about 900 students from the Livorno schools, the parachutist badge was given to Giacomo, a disabled boy from Livorno, who in recent days jumped with a parachute from a height of 4.200 meters. bound to an instructor of the Italian Army Parachute Training Center.

All those present had the opportunity to observe and concretely experience the vast panorama of parasportive practices, through the over 30 stations created by the various associations present, from wheelchair basketball to sitting volleyball to hippotherapy. Within the training area made available by the "Folgore" Brigade, information points and exhibition stands for leading companies in the disability sector were also set up.

Sport and disability, two themes strongly linked to each other, which are intertwined in a set of values. The constancy, the sacrifice, the will, the team spirit, but above all the same possibility offered to anyone, to put oneself to the test and overcome the difficulties.
