The commander of the lagoon regiment "Serenissima", Colonel Massimiliano Carella, and the president of the municipal AVIS of Mestre-Marghera, ing. Roberto Cerruti, have signed a letter of understanding to promote the development of the culture of solidarity and the gift, favoring, in particular, the collection of blood within the regiment.
In the Memorandum of Understanding, in addition to disclosing all the information useful for voluntary blood donation, ad hoc days were provided, in which the lagoons will open the barracks to the auto-blood library of the local AVIS section, so as to collect the donations.
At the moment, almost one hundred soldiers have joined the project, an important figure when compared to the contraction of donations in the face of increasingly frequent demands for blood.
