Italian Army and FIR together for the Rugby World Cup

The Army welcomed the Italian national Rugby team to the Corvara training-logistic base to carry out team building sessions in preparation for the 2023 World Cup.

Following the partnership signed with the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) last January, the Azzurri engaged in the pre-world retreat, tried their hand at training activities in a mountain environment under the supervision of instructors from the Alpine Troops and Army units specialized in career guidance and development.

During the first three days, the military instructors guided the players in learning the basics of survival in the mountains by dedicating themselves to activities such as bundling marches, first aid, masking, setting up a bivouac for the overnight stay at altitude, climbing and topography with specific exercises and activities orienteering.

Furthermore, throughout the period, the specialists of thecareer guidance and development office of the Army have been working with players on some core capabilities such as team building, teamwork, leadership and effective communication in order to contribute to the growth of athletes and staff by actively influencing team performance.

The activity just completed in Corvara further strengthens the collaboration between the Army and the Italian Rugby Federation which shares, promotes and puts into play values ​​such as loyalty, altruism, respect for the rules and teamwork on every occasion.
