128 are the Army officers who arrived today at the Application School after completing the two-year course at the Military Academy of Modena.
The young lieutenants, among them thirteen women and four soldiers from Albania, Niger, Senegal and Thailand, are preparing to attend the three-year academic degree necessary to obtain a specialist degree in strategic sciences.
The didactic scenario of the course, which is the result of an effective synergy between the Army and the University, includes five guidelines: organizational policies, management systems, communications, logistics, administrative economics. Internationalization of studies and cultural osmosis with society are some of the peculiarities of the Interdepartmental University Structure of Strategic Sciences (SUISS) whose objective is to train military and civil professionals capable of facing and solving complex situations in the context of crises and conflicts.
The commander for the Army Training, Specialization and Doctrine Army general Giorgio Battisti, addressing the future military leaders of the country, urged those present "to face this new professional experience with a sense of responsibility, difficult but equally decisive for your future as citizens and soldiers".
Currently 490 are the course attendants at the Application School, eighteen of which came from foreign countries. Added to these are the over two hundred civil students enrolled in the degree program in Strategic Sciences.
