Army, at the start of the 142 General Staff course

Preparing future military leaders to act in the ambit of national and multinational commands in Italy and abroad is the main objective of the 142 General Staff course started today at the Army Application School.

To cross the threshold of Palazzo Arsenale after a four-month distance training phase 227 captains from all areas of employment of the Armed Forces: operational, logistic, territorial, scholastic and infrastructural.

The officers, already in possession of a significant technical and professional experience gained in the units they belong to at home and in national and overseas theaters, will remain in Turin until May 2017. Among the subjects of teaching military history, organization of international agencies responsible for crisis management, logistics and leadership. Of particular importance is the study of foreign languages ​​and in particular English, an essential professional tool for acting with ease in the various operational contexts.

Among the members of the 142 course are eighteen women and two foreign officers from the People's Republic of China.

With the influx of the 142 the course goes to 730 the number of military course attenders at the Application School of Turin. Eighteen foreign students came from Afghanistan, Albania, Brazil, China, Libya, Niger, Senegal, Thailand and Uzbekistan to train together with their Italian comrades.
