(To Army Majority State)
12/05/16

The 10 was held from the 12 to the 2 May at the Milano Marittima logistics and training base, the symposium of the commanders of the training bodies and schools of the armed force, responsible for the training of officers, non-commissioned officers and troop officers.

The theme was the "Military Culture" understood as the set of knowledge, skills, values and traditions that represent the cornerstones on which the military condition rests.

The participants discussed topics such as communication and military ethics, together with doctrinal, sociological, legal and historical aspects.

In starting the work, the army corps general Giorgio Battisti, commander for training, specialization and doctrine of the Army (Comfordot), said: "The symposium aims to take stock of the theme of military culture, which is a container in which very different concepts, ideas, traditions and theories coexist. Every society has its own vision of the functions and purposes of the military institution, because it is society itself that creates and transforms it and is at the same time able to interpret its aims according to its own culture or, even better, according to the variation over time. of its own cultural matrix".

From the symposium it emerged that the processes of tactical, logistical and technological evolution have brought important changes in the Italian military sphere. Looking at the vast panorama of national military culture, today more than ever, the armed forces, and the Italian Army in particular, confirm themselves as a crucial instrument of national foreign policy, particularly in the areas of multilateral reference organizations, such as NATO. and the EU.

Another aspect that has surfaced is the recognition of the extraordinary abilities, the simplicity and normality of men and women in uniform who live as their mission their spirit of service, set on a life often made up of sacrifices, renunciations and discipline.

The Comfordot, established in the Cecchignola headquarters in Rome, with effect from 1 in January 2013 brings together in a single summit the functions related to the formation, specialization and doctrine of the Armed Force and aims to train and prepare officers, non-commissioned officers, graduates and military personnel of troops to operate nationally and internationally in the service of the nation.
