Pegasus 2015 Trial Tutorial: simulation and technology

(To Army Majority State)
03/10/15

The “Trial Pegasus 2015” exercise has just ended at the Torre Veneri polygon of Lecce in Puglia, with which the operational capacity of the training systems has been implemented.

Means, materials and weapons supplied to the armored cavalry units and "chariots" were used, on which simulation systems were installed capable of transmitting and acquiring detailed information on the tactical activities of the units on the ground.

In recent years, the Army has embarked on a path of evolution of training aimed at the more careful rationalization and optimization of resources and respect for the natural environment.

The objectives of the dedicated simulation system will make use of information technologies and using the frequencies used for data transmission, GPS, mobile telephony and wireless data transfer (Wi-Fi), and will allow the virtual training of units, at regimental level and operational brigades, with a realism never achieved before.

The exercises will be carried out under conditions of high operational stress, similar to those found in operations abroad.
