The "Granatieri di Sardegna" brigade is deployed at the Monteromano shooting range for the conduct of the "Scorpione 1/2017" exercise. It is an exercise activity that sees one task force "combat", composed of the "Lancers of Montebello" regiment (8th) and the 1st regiment "Granatieri di Sardegna", train with the support of Tactical Training Center (CAT) of 1 ° level realized within the SIAT program (Integrated Systems for Earth Training).
The CATs are Armed Forces Centers responsible for training and preparation of units through the use of simulation systems. Thanks to the use of these "Live" systems it was possible to faithfully replicate an operational scenario and reproduce the different tactical dynamics on the ground.
The general of corps Riccardo Marchiò, commander of the COMFOTER / COE, the general of division Maurizio Boni, commander of the Simulation Center and Validation (Ce.Si.Va.) and responsible for the development of the aforementioned program and the division general Antonio Vittiglio, commander of the "Acqui" division.
