The “Medusa 2024” exercise, organized by the center, ended in recent days Fires Targeting and Info Operations of the Italian Army (CFTIO) of the Bracciano artillery command, during which, through the latest generation simulation systems, various units of the Italian Army were exercised for the cooperation and interoperability of computerized command and control systems for the Artillery system .
The Exercise Medusa it took place with the participation of an English battery command post, belonging to 19th Royal Artillery Regiment, with the aim of consolidating the correct interoperability of communication systems, simulating artillery interventions coordinated in the procedures and methods of intervention. In addition to the foreign component, personnel from the 5th Land Artillery Regiment (Rocket Launchers) "SUPERGA", the 3rd Land Artillery Regiment, the 185th Parachute Artillery Regiment "Folgore", a platoon of the Engineer Command, the 11th ° "Leonessa" transmission regiment, AVES pilots as well as personnel of the Officers' School of the Army (as a virtual development training center), of the Infantry School and actual personnel at the three virtual training centers: 132nd "Ariete" tank regiment, 5th "Rigel" regiment and 185th parachute reconnaissance and objective acquisition regiment “Lightning”.
The exercise made it possible to strengthen the virtuous cycle already started for the bilateral exchange in intervention procedures with allied countries, guaranteeing interoperability between artillery command and control systems.
