Frison-1 Exercise on Monte Bivera

The "Frison-1" exercise in which departments of the Italian Army took part with specialized units of the 5th, 7th and 8th regiments of the brigade ended at the Monte Bivera shooting range. Julia, of the 3 ° regiment of the Taurinense, of the 183 ° regiment of the thunderbolt and of the 13 ° carabinieri regiment Friuli Venezia Giulia of Gorizia.

The shooting range, located in the Forni di Sopra and Sauris area in the province of Udine, is a very suitable area for the type of exercise and for the training activities of select shooters who infiltrated with specific tactical maneuvers on the ground. The units exercised have carried out continuous patrols of over 40 kilometers and have ventured into neutralization tests of the assigned objective in minimum "sniper-spotter" conformation, even in situations of high stress.

The exercise, managed and conducted by the 8th Alpine Regiment, was preceded by an intense week in which the specialists were able to amalgamate and share experiences already gained in the operational theaters in order to improve and standardize procedures in the case of use with other units always of the Army and other Armed Forces.

During the "Frison-1", radio procedures, media recognition, fire rifle rifles with different distances (up to 1160 meters) and with different shooting angles were tested, the stabilization and evacuation phases of the wounded, all carried out in high altitude and in adverse weather conditions.
