Received by Colonel Ferdinando Munno, commander of the Tactical Group "Lombardia and the 1 ° Regiment Transmissions, the important diplomatic representative expressed his heartfelt thanks for the valuable service that the staff of the Italian Army performs daily and without interruption to protection of some important US objectives and in particular at the headquarters of the US Consulate General.
The Ambassador also underlined how, in this very delicate moment, the important work done by the men and women of the Army arises in the wake of the historic and close collaboration that links the US authorities to the Italian ones. The "Safe Roads" Operation, established with the 29 July 2008 inter-ministerial decree, provides for the employment of military personnel belonging to the Armed Forces in competition activities with the public security authorities, overseeing important sensitive objectives and guaranteeing safety and prevention of petty crime in Italian cities.
