Brigadier General Claudio Rondano, who has a long experience in logistics and operations, has been placed at the head of the command, which is based in the barracks "Dalla Bona".
The establishment of the Support Command, under the direct control of COMFOTER, is envisaged in the Revision Plan of the Terrestrial Military Instrument in order to provide the terrestrial operating forces with a tool capable of performing a vast and diversified range of specialized logistics activities both in operations that in exercises, both on the national territory and abroad.
The Support Command will employ a number of various types of logistics departments.
