Course for Military Rescuers

Refining the ability to intervene on soldiers involved in traumatic events to preserve their vital functions in the absence of specialized medical personnel thanks to timely and specialized first aid: this is the aim of the 108th course for military rescuers in which twenty-three specialists from the "Sassari" brigade participated. ” under the supervision of instructors and a team of evaluators from Military Medical and Veterinary School of the Army.​

​The course addressed various topics such as anatomy, human physiology and BLS-D qualification (cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of the external semi-automatic defibrillator), with theoretical activities and practical exercises during the day and night, during which the students tried their hand at managing of massive hemorrhages, in the treatment of open wounds and stabilization of fractures, in the application of intervention procedures on burnt personnel and in the use of techniques for extracting injured people from armored vehicles.​

During the practical phase, the students implemented the teachings received, managing emotions and stress factors, in a series of tests focused on the correct evaluation approach to the injured person and on the ability to intervene to guarantee the possibility of survival in real situations.​
