60 commanders of units engaged in civil military cooperation, coming from 20 countries of the Atlantic Alliance, met for three days in Motta di Livenza, headquarters of the Multinational CIMIC Group, unit of the Army specializing in this sector.

The seminar, started last September 12 and now in its ninth edition, was organized to provide sector insiders a common framework in which to operate, interact and be updated on the latest developments in the doctrine.

The commander of the department, Colonel Marco Longo, opened the works by illustrating the experience and lessons learned in the various operational theaters where the Italian Army is employed. Participants included Rear Admiral Denis Bigot del Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe and the commander of the Alpine brigade "Julia" and of the Multinational Land Force, Brigadier General Paolo Fabbri.

Il Multinational CIMIC Group (Civil Military Cooperation) is a multinational Italian-led department of NATO, capable of researching, training and projecting units of specialists in the rescue and reconstruction of conflict-torn areas, an operational function that presides over the interaction between military forces and civilian components present in crisis areas.

The Group is fed by voluntary personnel coming from all the arms and corps of the Army and with foreign personnel coming from Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Romania.
