Awarded to the "Julia" Brigade the European certification "EU Battlegroup Package"

It was conferred today, at the Interoperable Summit Operations Command (COI), the European Union Certification at "EU Battlegroup Package" level to the alpine brigade "Julia", thanks to which Italy will have, in the first half of 2017, the role of leader of the European battlegroup, a military force at provision of the European Union capable of being used, quickly, in any theaters of international crisis.

The certification was achieved at the end of the important joint and multinational exercise "European Wind 2016", which saw committed, at the end of last November, over 1.500 soldiers from different nations belonging to the Multinational Land Force (MLF), and was delivered by Admiral Cavo Dragone, commander of the IOC, as authority responsible for certification, to the commander of the Alpine brigade "Julia", gen. b. Paolo Fabbri.

To the European battlegroup based on DECI (Defense Cooperation Initiative) include, in addition to Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Croatia and Albania (the latter recently admitted as an observer).

"
