Charlie amphibious qualification course completed

The 15th "Charlie" amphibious qualification course for the staff of the departments of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" brigade was concluded at the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment.​​​​

The "Charlie" course, including theoretical and practical activities, has the aim of providing attending personnel with the basic knowledge necessary to operate in the CLF (commander landing force) staff in the planning and conduct of an amphibious and/or riverine operation .

In particular, during the three weeks of activity, the students acquired the basic doctrinal elements on operations in an amphibious environment and knowledge of the main amphibious and naval vehicles. The participants carried out tests in the swimming pool, a ballasted march with a twelve kilogram weapon and backpack, a tipping test in the lagoon with a model inflatable boat Zodiac F470 and conducted the crossing of a watercourse in tactical gear.

One day of the course was dedicated to the doctrinal conference on amphibious operations held by frigate captain Ferruccio Ferreli fromInstitute of Maritime Military Studies of Venice, which dealt with maritime maneuvering, the characteristics of the support groups ofamphibious task force and the peculiarities of Navy units supporting an amphibious operation. In addition to the staff attending the 15th "Charlie" course, the conference was attended by Key Elements of the staff of the departments of the "Pozzuolo" brigade belonging to capability basket of the CNPM (national projection capacity from the sea).

At the end of the course, the regimental commander, Colonel Ivan Falasca, congratulated the attendees and handed over the certificates of participation.
