The 3 ^ ended yesterday Operational Integration Session (SIO) conducted by the "Pinerolo" brigade as part of the project's trial campaign Force NEC (Network Enabled Capability), a joint Defense-Industry project, which aims to reduce communication and information acquisition times in military operations by means of new information technologies.
The activity saw the 31 wagon regiment, deployed at the Torre Veneri range (LE), the 8 ° Bersaglieri regiment and the 82 ° infantry regiment "Turin", lined up at the Chinchilla range in Spain.
The purpose of the exercise was to acquire an effective ability to operate completely digitally, using the systems of Command and Control, tactical means as well as individual equipment, acquired as part of the "Soldato Futuro" program.
In the course of the technical-tactical activity, the synergy between the systems and the means made it possible to obtain a flow of communications between digitized command posts (geolocalised navigation, observation management, identification and engagement of targets), with the consequent knowledge in time real of the friendly and enemy tactical situation.
On the occasion of the final day an exercise was held in the presence of the commander of the "Pinerolo" brigade, Brigadier General Gianpaolo Mirra, General Emilio Corbucci, director of the NEC force program, Colonel Guido Cerioni, Deputy Head of Terrestrial Transformation Department .
The activity was also attended by the 9 infantry regiment "Bari", the 7 ° Bersaglieri regiment, the 232 transmissions regiment and the "Pinerolo" command and tactical support department.
