The instructors of the weapons and shooting department of the Cesano Infantry School have just completed a new training cycle for the marshals of the Officers' School of Viterbo on the use of mortars supplied to the armed force.

In particular, the training focused on the use of the Expal medium mortar from 81mm, on the Thompson heavy mortar from 120mm, on the use of the topographic map, on the methodology for calculating shooting data, on shooting observation and on evaluation of the effects of fire on the designated objectives.

The course ended in the presence of the commander of the Infantry School, Brigadier General Massimo Mingiardi, who witnessed the activation of a mortar platoon committed to carrying out the fire requests made by an observer team under the supervision of the Institute instructors .

Mortar training is part of the training activity that sees the marshals as students, attending the last year of the course, working at the Infantry School in a seven-month training cycle before reaching the operational departments.
