19/02/15

Prali (TO) locality Miandette, a joint exercise concluded in these days with the operators of the National Alpine Rescue that saw the 36 ^ Compagnia del 3 ° Alpini Regiment involved in the recovery of personnel run over by avalanche.

The simulation involved the Alpini who, equipped with specific means, materials and technical equipment, promptly delimited the area affected by the event and set up a security cordon to facilitate the search for victims, which began in a very short time. A second company of the "Susa" Battalion arrived immediately in support with mountain track vehicles (BV) supplied to the Alpine Troops, thanks to which they were able to evacuate the victims despite the considerable snowfall.

This exercise is part of a framework of activities aimed at optimizing the capacity for intervention in the event of disasters, with specific reference to the detachment of avalanches.

For soldiers employed and trained mainly in the mountains, safety in movement is an essential factor. From 1972 the Meteomont service is active, the organization of the Command of the Alpine Troops of Bolzano that since then provides, in collaboration with the Air Force and the State Forestry Corps, information on avalanche risk and on meteorological phenomena used by both troops in training, both of civilians moving in the mountains.

Every day a bulletin with the security status for the day is drawn up and sent out.
