Farewell ceremony for the departure in Lebanon of the "Pinerolo" brigade

It took place today, in the "Vitrani" barracks of Bari, the headquarters of the "Pinerolo" command and tactical supports, in the presence of the commander of the 2 ° command of the defense forces, general of the corps Carmine De Pascale, and of all the civil, religious and military authorities of the territory, the greeting ceremony on the occasion of the departure of the "Pinerolo" brigade for the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.

The departure takes place at the end of an intense training cycle which saw the brigade engaged not only in the preparation phase of the largest Italian contingent currently engaged outside the borders of the mother country but also in the delicate task of transforming and testing the NEC force (Network Enabled Capability).

The great unit, led by its commander, Brigadier General Stefano Del Col, will take command of the western sector of the UN-UNIFIL mission, in the context of the operation called "LEONTE XVII".

The Pinerolo, reinforced by other assets from all over Italy, will take the name JTF-L (Joint Task Force - Lebanon) and will operate, "together" with the armed forces of other 8 nations: Slovenia, Brunei, Finland, Malaysia, South Korea , Ghana, Ireland, Tanzania, for the full implementation of the UN Security Council 1701 resolution.
