"Julia" greeting ceremony

20/02/15

General Primicerj greeted, at the "Di Prampero" barracks in Udine, the staff of the "Julia" Alpine Brigade, soon to be employed in Afghanistan, as part of the Resolute Support (RS) mission.

The ceremony, attended by the mayor of Udine, Professor Furio Honsell, and the prefect of Udine, dott.ssa Provvidenza Delfina Raimondo, sealed the strong link between the institutions and the army and, in particular, among the local authorities and the "Julia" Alpine Brigade.

The "Julia" Brigade will take over the leadership of the "Train Advise Assist Command West" (TAAC-West), the NATO-led NATO Command based on HERAT.

The TAAC-West expresses a new operational concept, no longer focused on the combat function, but based essentially on the support and training of the Afghan Armed Forces.

For the "Julia" Brigade Command, this is the seventh mission outside the area, the fourth in Afghanistan.
