In the “Emidio Clementi” barracks, headquarters of the 235th “Piceno” volunteer training regiment, the volunteers on initial standstill of the 2nd block 2023, have sworn an oath of loyalty to the Italian Republic.
In the presence of the regiment's War Flag and the presence of the commander of the Infantry School, Brigadier General Eugenio Dessì, the volunteers shouted "I swear!".
The regimental commander, Colonel Giovanni Cruciani, during his speech said: “The challenge that faces you today is complete adherence to the formula of the oath, an authentic synthesis of being a Soldier and an expression of the values and ethical commitment that this entails”.
“You have solemnly promised to dedicate the best of yourselves to Italy, you must be loyal and conscientious soldiers, irreproachable and disciplined servants of the State as well as exemplary citizens!” with these words General Dessì exhorted the young volunteers.
The volunteers of the 2nd block 2023, at the end of this training phase, will leave the "city of the Hundred Towers" to reach the specialization units of the Armed Forces, in order to continue the training process which will allow them to be employed throughout the National territory.
The ceremony was attended by military, civil and religious authorities from the city and the province of Ascoli Piceno, as well as representatives of the combat and weapons associations.
