Ceremony of the 72 anniversary of the battle of Mignano Montelungo

This morning was celebrated in Mignano Montelungo, at the Military Memorial, the 72 anniversary of the homonymous battle, fought in the Second World War, for which the city was awarded the gold medal for military valor and the gold medal for civil merit.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Undersecretary of State for Defense, the Hon. Domenico Rossi and the Army Chief of Staff, General Danilo Errico.
The Undersecretary of Defense Rossi recalling the extreme sacrifice of those boys who fought the battle of Montelungo pointed out, in, remembering the fallen, that there is no difference between the dead in the first, second world war and in operations in Italy and abroad. All united by the oath.

General Errico, after deposing a crown in memory of the fallen, addressed a reverent and moved thought to all the fallen of all times in his speech, reiterating that next to the fallen of that time there is the closeness of the military of today, which based on the same values. The Army is the protagonist of the country's history and guardian of the nation's values.

The celebration was attended, among others, by the military commander of the capital, General Agostino Biancafarina, the mayor of Mignano Montelungo, Antonio Verdone, the president of the National Association of Liberation War Combatants, Ambassador Cortese De Bosis. In the inter-force deployment, due to the surrender of honors, the war flag of the 17 volunteer training regiment and the band of the grenadier brigade of Sardinia were deployed.
