Centenary of the Artillery Counter-aircraft

A commemorative plaque was inaugurated in the Municipality of Nettuno for the centenary of the constitution of the Counter-Aircraft Artillery. The event, attended by the Undersecretary of Defense, Honorable Domenico Rossi, involved the Combat Aircraft Artillery Command, commanded by Brigadier General Carlo Zontilli.

The ceremony began with the awarding of the honors to the highest Authority, the gathering of military and civil authorities at the Council Chamber and, subsequently, the commemorative plaque was discovered.

In Nettuno, site of the artillery shooting school, the 20 January 1915 was established, the first artillery department of the captain Augusto de Pignier and created the anti-aircraft specialty of the Italian Army which has now become a valuable resource due to the extremely high technology of the weapon provided and for the professionalism of its personnel, destined therefore to play an increasingly active role in the Armed Forces.
