World karate championships: gold medal at Corporal Sara Cardin

"A gold that rewards great sacrifice and a sense of respect for this discipline. I dedicate this victory to my coach and to the Olympic Sports Center Army". These are the words of the corporal Sara Cardin, who won the gold medal by overtaking the French Emily Thouy in the final.

The military athlete received congratulations from the defense minister Roberta Pinotti and the army chief of staff, general Claudio Graziano for the exceptional result achieved in the world championships held in Bremen, Germany.

Great satisfaction for the athlete from Treviso who has a very respectable palmares composed, besides the gold conquered in Germany, by a silver 2011 world, by a silver and a European gold conquered, respectively, in 2013 and 2014. Medals to which are added 17 Italian titles of which 3 junior, 2 cadets, 1 beginners, 2 youth teams, 2 team seniors and 2 university.

The adventure of Sara Cardin began last Thursday with the qualifying stages of the 4 pool, brilliantly won, after defeating in the first round the Ukrainian Melnyk for 10 in 0, the second the Greek Pappa, forced to leave the field on the 6 to 0, then the Macedonian Zaborska, the koreana AhnTae, and in the semifinals the German Bitsch, in turn winner of the 3 pool.
